Assalamualaikum.
I got the offer for the tesl foundation but i didn't want to gamble with my future, so i chose to enrol matriculation instead (which i half regretted and half grateful)
This blog is dedicated to those who are going for the tesl foundation interview. especially at uitm merbok.
let's cut to the chase since all of you are here for the details.
first, my session was at the evening. since my name starts with letter p, my turn for the interview was among the last 10 unfortunate people.
how was the interview conducted?
the place.
ask the guard for the venue if you aren't familiar with the place once you reach the entrance.
the place was in a big hall. first, the written exam. it was kinda easy. some objective question, some subjective questions that require you to fill in the blank space and an essay. the essay question was about technology something like that la.
for the oral test, the interview, they held it in the same hall. the hall was/is big. they created 5 stalls(?) using mobile wooden walls. each stall had 2 lecturers/interviewers.
1.when your name is called, walk professionally to show your charisma, back straight and chin up.
2. with a professional smile (if it is too much for you, smile broadly and sincerely), greet the lecturers and hand in your certs, then ask permission to sit. show your interest in answering the questions. how? speak loud and clear with enthusiasm, showing that you have what it takes to enrol this course. ask questions when the opportunity arises. (the lecturers were tired af since they interviewed candidates from the day before and that day, around 80 candidates, 40 each day for two lecturers. so they confessed about their hectic day. plus, it was late in the evening. but don't waver. show your enthusiasm)
questions asked
1. you have good spm result, so why choose tesl foundation?
2. other then tesl foundation and english doundation at iium, what else you put in your upu? any science courses? (i only filled the upu until the fifth choice)
i dnt remember the rest questions. total 5 questions.
most of the conversation sounded as if they recommend me to choose science courses/. i thought i failed the interview since depa macam tak nak layan aku, but nah, i win. hohohohho. just show your unwavering confidence and determination/enthusiasm. then, instantly, they know you would be the right one for the course. plus, if you score A+, you have the high possibility to enrol the course, with an excellent interview of course. but i dont think my interview was that good since i dont really talk much, perhaps my writing and spm result helped a lot. nah, just pray to God. he isnt cruel.
while writing this entry, i have the urge to stuff profanities and curses, but in this holy month, ramadhan, i have to tone it down. plus, who knows who will be reading this shitty entry. i dont know how to make it public though.
